Know the Rules, Coach with Confidence

As a volunteer coach, your knowledge of the game plays a big role in your team’s success and enjoyment. The Sugar Land Little League Board of Directors works closely with all levels of the Little League® system to ensure our league follows current season and tournament rules.

We encourage all coaches to stay up to date with the latest rule changes and age-specific guidelines. A solid understanding of the rules not only improves the game for your players but also helps parents and fans better enjoy and support the action on the field.

Pitching Rules

The Board of Directors at Sugar Land Little League are passionate about the safety and protection of all of the players that play with us every season.  The league will strictly follow all pitching guidelines as prescribed by Little League® in an effort to protect the throwing arms of all players on the field.

PROTECTING ARMS
Each organization, whether it be a league, travel team, showcase or tournament, should establish rules to ensure that players must follow the guidelines while playing in that league. Ultimately, it is the responsibility of the parent and the athlete to ensure that the player follows the guidelines for his age group over the course of a year given that he will oftentimes play in multiple leagues with different affiliations covering different times of the year.
